0:02 - Intro 0:10 - Verse 1 0:35 - Chorus 0:58 - Verse 2 1:22 - Chorus 1:44 - Solo - part 1 2:11 - Solo - part 2 2:35 - Solo - part 3 3:00 - Solo - part 4 3:26 - Verse 3 3:49 - Chorus 4:15 - Ending Performance notes - here is my latest TAB project - "Tore Up" - from Jerry Garcia's - "Reflections" Album this was an amazing album full of great songs, and Tore Up quickly became a staple for the Jerry Garcia Band's live shows at it's heart - it is a I-IV-V 12 bar blues song in the key of C it has a great intro - which is repeated again at the end - and which is super fun to play Jerry Garcia plays it very close to the vest on the first 2 verses - over-dubbing generic little blues fills - which i was literally able to cut and paste with very little difference between licks the choruses introduce a familiar little blues riff which he plays over the C, the F, and the C the chorus ends with this simple but classic lick on the turnaround, which i'll admit to never even noticing until I TABBED this out but the highlight here is the solo - it features lots of classic signature Jerry Garcia blues runs and bends - i remember as a kid, listening to this, and wondering how he was able to pace his solo like this - building up the tension like a true blues master - he always seemed to have the perfect note at hand- or just waiting in reserve - so, i had to TAB this out to see how he did it! i used to think that, if you got a great guitar and amp, you could play and sound like this - but, now, i realize that it comes from within. it's in the hands, mind, and the soul! and Jerry Garcia's mind, hands, and soul were one of the best, regardless of what gear he happened to be playing through at the time. the last verse includes a couple of overdubbed licks which are also very cool i hope you have as much fun learning this great song as i did- carlo :) :) :)
